instep straps can not be widened

I recently purchased BIRKENSTOCK which was making my Achilles heal throb when walking in them every time I put them on. I was convinced it was anything else but the sandals. Bad achilles pain! Bottom of the feet would also ache the next morning. They looked good but were like walking on hard wood floors. I decided to buy a different brand and chose these PROPETS...OMtriPPPleGGG! As soon as I put them on my feet felt like I was walking on a soft and very comfortable surface. Feels like a pair of sandals and athletic shoes combined. I swear as light as clouds and guess what folks - first time on and I had no achilles pain when walking the dogs. I'm like WHA- WHA?? I knew it was the previous sandals causing the pain not walking the dogs on sidewalks. I woke up this morning expecting to have some heal pain and nothing. Holy GUACAMOLE!!! My feet have never felt better when walking the dogs and I bet I looked a lot better without the limp on the right side from the pain the BIRKENSTOCKS gave me daily. Who would have guessed shoes make such a difference.

I have foot problems and this is the most comfortable sandal-like shoe I've ever worn. Also one of the few that is available in size 14 extra wide. The sole is supportive, the shoe easy to get on, yet there's no sense it will ever slip off. Once again I can pass hot summer days without socks. And, for someone with such big feet, there are few shoes that look as stylish and attractive on me
